SEMCA Distributes 98,000 Career Prep Kits

SEMCA is proud to announce 98,000 Career Planning Kits have been distributed to students, teachers and schools throughout southeast Michigan.

As part of the Career Preparation System, the kit was designed to help students develop a unique, ongoing record of career planning, based on selected and attainable career goals and education options.

Jack O’Reilly, executive director of SEMCA, said that young people need answers to important questions like “what are my interests and abilities” and “which career suits me the best.” The career planning kit is an insightful tool that will
give parents and students
the answers.

The kits are no longer available, but students and parents can visit one of SEMCA’s Michigan Works! agencies to get more information about
career planning.
