The Highland Park Family Independence Agency referred Cynthia to the SEMCA Highland Park Service Center (Employment & Training Designs, Inc.) in October, 2000.
At the time, she was moving from one temporary job to another.
Cynthia was not making enough money to pay her bills and was forced to move into a Christian home with her two daughters.

Cynthia’s Job Developer referred her to United Airlines for their next testing session.
Cynthia was very enthusiastic about the opportunity, but was worried about not having transportation to get to work.
She was assured that transportation could be arranged to the airport if she got the job.
Cynthia took part in job readiness training to enhance her people skills, interviewing skills, and image enhancement.

| Cynthia passed all of the employment tests for United Airlines. The Michigan Works! One Stop purchased appropriate, business attire for Cynthia to wear to her interview. She was hired as a Ticket Reservationist on November 27, 2000. | Cynthia graduated from her training class on January 11, 2000. She has applied for assistance with work clothing and a vehicle. Cynthia was a model ETD customer, who exhibited great enthusiasm for entering a new career. She and her family are proud of her accomplishments and thankful for the security her new job offers.
