Fire Up Your Future

The results of the Young Adult Summit, held on Wednesday May 29th are in. ETD had over 130 young people (ages 18-21) in attendance and 25 companies and organizations participated in the day long event. The purpose of the event was to get local young adults to realize that there are many career opportunities that would match well with their talents and interests and motivate them to action.

The Adventure area challenged attendees to work together to solve physical tasks.
The day began with an awesome and energetic performance by motivational speaker and professional drummer Jeff Queen. The participants were then offered a series of breakout sessions including “Seven Successful Habits of Teens” and True Colors Training. This was followed by interaction with “Ask the Experts” in the afternoon. The day ended with prizes awarded to lucky ticket holders. These prizes included tickets to concerts and Cedar Point, CD players, a personal computer, phone cards, and a $259 shopping spree at Marshall Fields. Thanks to the staff of ETD and SEMCA who put so much time and effort into making this event a success!
