The Information Center Gala Event

The Information Center held its seventh annual Gala Celebration and Silent Auction on October 11th at the Grecian Center in Southgate.

The Master of Ceremonies for the evening was SEMCA’s own John B. O’Reilly Jr.

This year’s Opportunity Award for Youth Music Students was given to Lisa Wisniewski.

The accounting firm of Bovitz & Co. was named this year’s Community Partner Award.

“It’s all about helping people.” Bob Bovitz told the audience. He was present to accept the award that recognized his firm’s dedicated support of the Information Center.

Ruth Sebaly, Information Center President, spoke to the audience about the community support. “Everyday we are doing small, tiny rescues,” she said. “My sincerest thanks for that support.”

This year’s silent auction and raffle ticket proceeds surpassed all expectations with the net proceeds totaling $38,939. “This is a record and we are very pleased.” stated The Information Center’s Kari West.

Congratulations to everyone at the Information Center who helps with their “small, tiny, everyday rescues.” It’s important to keep that safety net strong.
