The Michigan Department of Career Development (MDCD) announced it’s new web site on October 17th at Oakland Community College’s Orchard Ridge Campus. The new site (www.mycareereducation.org), offers a wealth of information about careers in Michigan. |

You can look for information about training required to enter a certain career, how long that training will take, as well as the available locations and the costs. In addition to training information, you can find what the top paying jobs in Michigan are and what those jobs pay. Or you can search salaries by region. You can also find out what the current average salary is for any given profession in Michigan. |

This site will be a useful tool for students when planning a future career as well as residents who are thinking of a career change.
Michigan learning institutions will be able to compare some aspects of their programs to those of other institutions, businesses will be able to learn if they are offering competitive wages to their employees, and businesses from out of state who are thinking of locating to Michigan can find vital information about the workforce climate in Michigan. The list of possibilities goes on, this new site will have unlimited uses for hundreds of people. The bottom line is that this site will help residents and help to keep Michigan’s strong economy going. |
