SEMCA Regional Substance Abuse Needs and Assets Assessment

In an effort to provide accessibility to publicly funded substance abuse resources, the Southeast Michigan Community Alliance (SEMCA) contracted with the Eastern Michigan University School of Social Work to conduct a comprehensive needs and asset assessment of the substance abuse specific resources available to residents of the SEMCA region.

This study presents a thorough picture of the substance abuse treatment and prevention related resources available in Wayne and Monroe counties. This study is designed for service providers, administrators, government agencies, public officeholders and clients to provide valuable information for research, grant and proposal development.

SEMCA intends to update portions of the data presented in this study on an ongoing basis. In addition, SEMCA will conduct another comprehensive needs and asset assessment of the SEMCA region within the next five years.

Thanks to the SEMCA board members and staff, program administrators, clinicians, clients, law enforcement officials, judges, probation officers, clients, and families for your contribution toward the completion of this study.

We hope this array of substance abuse data enhances the quality of services for the community and is a catalyst for improving individuals’ lives.
