Chief Operating Officer

As chief operating officer, Sebaly oversees the internal operations for SEMCA including workforce development programs as well as substance abuse and prevention services.

“I am thrilled to be part of SEMCA’s mission,” said Sebaly, chief operating officer for SEMCA. “SEMCA is the leader for top-notch employment and training and substance abuse services, which are integral to keeping our communities thriving,” she added.

Prior to joining SEMCA, Sebaly was a long-time staff member for The Information Center, Inc. in Taylor. Her stint as president of the Center included managing all aspects of the operation including program administration, fiscal oversight and fundraising initiatives. Sebaly’s tenure also included serving as an information and referral supervisor followed by program director.

“Ruth is a proven non-profit administrator and a passionate human services professional,” said Gregory Pitoniak, chief executive officer for SEMCA. “The SEMCA senior management team will benefit from her past experience as we seek to improve our current services and identify other ways to serve our region,” he added.

Sebaly said she is impressed with SEMCA’s on-going commitment to assessing the needs of our communities. This is what makes SEMCA relevant to advancing the transformation of Michigan’s economy, she added.

Sebaly holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in guidance and counseling from Eastern Michigan University. She resides in Trenton with her husband Kurt and two children Sarah and Jessica.
